At UVM Dining, we’re committed to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for everyone. We know that for some students, dining choices are deeply connected to religious beliefs, and we’re here to support you with options that meet your needs.

If you have specific needs or questions, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to make your dining experience comfortable and delicious.

  • Hot Kosher Meals: Our certified kosher kitchen at Redstone Dining is a meat/parve kitchen, operated by Vermont Kosher LLC under the Orthodox Rabbinical supervision of Chabad of Vermont. Hot kosher meals are served Sunday–Thursday from 5 PM–7:30 PM. Just let the cashier know, and they’ll provide you with a receipt to pick up your meal at the kosher station.
  • Grab-and-Go Kosher Meals: Need something quick? You’ll find pre-packaged Vermont Kosher meals at Redstone Market, The Marketplace, and University Marche.
  • Kosher Groceries: Stock up on kosher groceries and frozen entrees at Redstone Market and University Marche to keep your pantry well-equipped.

We’re here to support students seeking halal dining options on campus.

  • Vegetarian & Vegan Choices: Many students choose our vegetarian and vegan options, which are available across campus in all dining halls and most retail locations.
  • Ingredient Transparency: Curious about what’s in a dish? Our chefs and sous chefs are happy to answer your questions, provide recipes, or share food labels for your review.
  • Halal Chicken: Certified halal chicken (Murray’s) is available upon request in our dining halls. Just ask a sous chef or supervisor. Please note that while the chicken is certified halal, it’s not prepared in a dedicated halal kitchen.
  • Halal Shack & Jamal’s Chicken: Located on the first floor of the Davis Center inside Brennan’s, both of these options serve certified halal foods to satisfy your cravings.
